Full Version: What is better Maya or 3ds Max?

I am new in animation field. Just starting my career in animation. Now I am working in 3Ds max. I heard about Maya which is cost effective choice in game development. Any one tell me which is most user friendly and effective one?

How new are you exactly in Animation field?. for user-friendly UI usage aren't comparable both of them.
If you really focused in animation, go with Maya (it has better scripting especially for keyframing), the user-base are also focused in modeling/animation/FXs/game dev.

3Ds max are actually focused for engineering stuff (i had only few years experience of modeling stuff on it, and it's nowhere near "animation" - it's all engineering). but yeah there are might another case which restrict you from switching software (like, the company already decide restricting development using certain software only).
